The American Bar Association lists divorce coaching as top dispute resolution processes and says: “Divorce coaching is flexible, goal-oriented process designed to support, motivate, and guide people going through divorce to help them make the best possible decisions for their future, based on their particular interests, needs, and concerns.”

Will working with a divorce coach be cost effective?

Yes, while hiring a divorce coach may seem like an additional expense, it can actually save you money in the long run.  Divorce coaches provide emotional support and guidance that help in better decision making and avoid costly mistakes and disputes that arise from poor decision-making. You will reduce legal costs by managing your emotions and communicate more effectively with your attorney and save money by sorting through issues and setting goals with your coach then presenting your divorce goals to your attorney.

How does divorce coaching differ from legal representation and therapy?

A divorce coach walks you through the emotional component and practicalities of divorce. They understand the process of divorce and what to expect along the way, helping you prepare for the steps necessary to accomplish what you want from the divorce. Attorney’s deal with the legal process and therapists deal with the deeper issues related to your past.

 

What phase of my divorce process do I need to be in to work with a divorce coach?

You can work with a divorce coach at any stage of your divorce process, whether you are just considering divorce, in the beginning or middle of your process, or post-divorce.

A divorce coach can strategize, support, and guide you no matter what phase you are in.

 

What can I expect to gain from coaching?

Better decision making, avoid common mistakes, better communication with ex-spouse and attorney, become more informed, develop coping skills, efficiency and cost effectiveness, better outcome.

Will my privacy and confidentiality be protected during the coaching process?

Yes, Confidentiality means ensuring that information is accessible only to those authorized to have access. A relationship of trust and confidence with the client can only be built upon the understanding that the client’s information will remain confidential.

What is your cancelation policy?

A 24-hour cancellation notice is required to receive a refund or transfer of session payment. A client can cancel coaching agreement at anytime with written notice via email. Please include your last desired coaching session date. 

Will my divorce coach be involved with my legal proceedings or communicate with my attorney?

They can communicate with your attorney if that is something you prefer but it’s not a requirement.

 

Are divorce coaching sessions done remotely or in person?

My divorce coaching sessions are conducted remotely over Zoom or by phone but arrangements can be made to meet in person.

 

Do you offer coaching services outside of my local area?

Yes, since coaching is done remotely. I can work with clients located anywhere in the United States and internationally. 

 

How often will I meet with my divorce coach?

Frequency is based on your pace and needs. Typically, clients meet weekly depending on where they are in their process and issues that arise. Sessions are purchased in packages and must be used within a 6-month time period.

 

Are you available in between sessions for help if the need arises?

Yes, I can be reached via phone or text to answer a quick question you may have that can’t wait until our scheduled session.

 

Can a divorce coach provide divorce related resources for me?

Yes, one of the critical roles of a divorce coach is to be able to offer referral services for other divorce professionals or resources you that are specific to your needs and situation and assist in helping develop your divorce team. 

 

Can I continue with coaching after my divorce is final?

Yes, after your divorce is final, you may have unresolved feelings related to your divorce and fear about starting this new chapter in your life. A divorce coach can help you transition into this next phase, navigate challenges, and develop a plan to move forward, set goals, and help you build a new and fulfilling life after divorce.
